It’s the first #TJTuesday of #MelaninMarch and #WomensHistoryMonth!
The clip below is a excerpt from a speech given by civil rights activist and Muslim minister, El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, better known as Malcolm X, on May 22, 1962 in Los Angeles.
In the speech he asked :”Who taught you to hate the color of your skin? Who taught you to hate the texture of your hair? Who taught you to hate the shape of your nose and the shape of your lips? Who taught you to hate yourself from the top of your head to the soles of your feet?”
But the clip in this video, is one of his most quoted moments in history when it comes to African American women in America.
Think you know it?
Well PRESS PLAY to make sure…..
While the African American women is the most educated group in the U.S. (according to the National Center for Education Statistics), the words Brother Malcolm speaks are still relevant in this 2020 year.
But what I am most proud to say is that the RIGHT black woman, (yea I said it), won’t allow herself to be disrespected without correction.
Note I said CORRECTION, not necessarily
confrontation. However sometimes you gotta add the extra sauce to get your point across so I get it. Different situations require different versions of you.
We have many black women who have paved the way for the lives we live and even more shaping the future.
To my black creatives, entrepreneurs, activist and trendsetters of today I say:
This is a month of manifestation and possibilities. Take advantage of the opportunities that may arise that require you to step outside of your comfort zone.
Everything you aspire to achieve is on the other side of fear and procrastination.
If you haven’t already, write down your goals for the month and keep them between you and your God.
Meet him halfway as you work through the month to achieve them.
Nobody plans on making history by doing something they believe in. Anyone can make their mark on the world at anytime.
Don’t deny yourself that opportunity by not chasing your dreams or standing in your truth.
You got this sis!!!
DON’T FORGET TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE TODAY!!! #SuperTuesday
